Phillip and Fabian, Ergonsi más “internashional”
Phillip and Fabian are two foreign students who are currently studying in our school. Here you have an interview we have had with them.
ERGONSI: Where are you from?
PHILLIP: Denver (Colorado), EE.UU.
FABIAN: Spalt, a small town in the south of Germany, near Nurnberg.
EG: Why are you here in Seville?
P: I want to learn Spanish and become fluent. I also want to have a good time.
F: Because I want to learn the language and the culture. I also want to meet people with a different lifestyle.
EG: How long have you been here?
P: Since 7th September. I was first in Barcelona till I came to Seville on 10th September.
F: Since 16th September.
EG: Do you like the city? Why?
P: Yes, I do like Seville. It´s a great city!
F: Yes, I do like averything about Seville: the weather, the cathedral, the old buildings... They are great!
EG: When are you leaving?
P: On 22nd January.
F: In July.
EG: How long have you been learning Spanish?
P: 3 years. Spanish is a compulsory subject in my school.
F: 2 years. Spanish es not compulsory, but I chose the subject.
EG: Do you find it easy to study in Spanish?
P: Not really. The first days were very hard but now lessons are easier. The hardest subjects is Spanish Language and Literature.
F: It´s becoming easier now, but at first it was a bit hard. I find Phylosophy very difficult.
EG: Do you miss your family and friends?
P: At first it was a bit hard to be far away from my family and friends; but now I can get used to being on my own.
F: I missed my family and friends a lot when I first came to Spain. But now I call them 3 or 4 times a week.
EG: What is the difference between Spain and your own country?
P: The times are different, and I´m used to the American times.
F: The “siesta”, food and clothes.
EG: What is your best experience in Spain?
P: I have learnt lots of different things. Spaniards are very different from American people. Spanish young men are all “metrosexuales”.
F: I find Spanish people different from German people.
We hope you have already met Phillip and Fabian. They are two great guays! Unfortunately, at the time of going to press we learned that Fabian is moving to Valladolid.
Enjoy your stay in our school!
We thank our teacher Raul for helping us with the language.
